GSD PQUESTIONS FOR TODAY PARLIAMENT

Gibraltar Parliament resumes its monthly sessions on March 15th with the Question Time for Government Ministers.

Opposition spokesman for Transport Damon Bossino will be asking the Government whether it or the Bus Company received any legal advice before the defence of the unfair dismissal claim by Mr Sardeña against the Bus Company was dropped.

Questions will also be directed to Neil Costa on the cost to the Government of its participation at the Travel Road Show recently held in Nottingham.

Mr Bossino will also be seeking information as to whether the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Gibraltar Air Terminal has been filled and when the Government decided to make the bus service available for free to non-resident workers.

The Opposition spokesman will be asking whether the Government has identified areas for free overnight parking other than those at the Europort Avenue and Bayside Road car parks and probing the Minister on the findings arising from the Traffic Plan public consultation exercise. Mr Bossino will be seeking full details of the arrangements the Government has entered into with the car exporting businesses in connection with the offer of car parking facilities at the Devil’s Tower Road multi-storey car park and asking Dr Garcia where the register of projects announced in connection with the first inter-ministerial meeting to promote a co-ordinated approach to Heritage, Culture, Tourism and the Environment, will be kept.

For his part Opposition spokesman for Social Services Jaime Netto will be asking about the numbers of senior Gibraltarian registered unemployed, and the number of persons in receipt of Social Assistance.

He will also be asking the number of civil servants that have retired throughout 2011 to the end of February.

Mr Netto will also be asking a series of questions regarding children in care including about incidents of violence and cases of absconding from the Care Agency residential home, and the number of elderly persons receiving domiciliary care.

The Minister for Social Security will also be asked how many disabled persons in employment have received letters withdrawing from them the Disability Allowance.
